Brazilian Laser Hair Removal with Triton by InMode
Brazilian laser hair removal uses precisely delivered laser energy to create long-term hair reduction across the bikini and intimate area. At Lumini Medical Spa in Aventura, we use Triton by InMode: a multi-wavelength platform selected to match the patient’s skin tone and hair characteristics. Its integrated cooling makes the experience notably more comfortable, while its simultaneous wavelength blends can target follicles at different depths and may help patients progress with fewer visits than some single-wavelength or lower-powered approaches.
That does not mean “zero sensation” or a guaranteed session count. The Brazilian area can be sensitive, and response varies with hair thickness, skin tone, hormones, treatment settings and schedule consistency. Most patients describe brief warmth or a quick elastic-band snap rather than sustained pain. Lumini’s published expectation is visible reduction after two to three sessions and the strongest reduction after a properly completed series, commonly around six to eight sessions, with maintenance depending on regrowth.
What does Brazilian laser hair removal include?
A full Brazilian generally addresses more hair than a standard bikini-line treatment, including the front and the hair extending beyond the underwear line. Treatment of the labial and perianal areas may be included when requested, appropriate and within the agreed plan. A bikini treatment normally stays closer to the visible underwear border. Definitions vary among clinics, so the safest approach is to map the exact area before the session instead of relying on a package name.
| Option | Typical treatment boundary | Customization |
|---|---|---|
| Bikini line | Hair visible outside a conventional underwear line | Conservative border cleanup |
| Extended bikini | Wider reduction across the front and sides | More coverage without a complete Brazilian |
| Brazilian | Front plus selected intimate areas defined during consultation | Everything removed or a strip/triangle preserved |
Treatment is performed in a private room with professional draping. The provider confirms consent, boundaries and positioning before starting. You can pause the session at any time. Those details matter as much as the device when the treatment involves an intimate area.
Why Triton can be more efficient than a single-wavelength laser
Hair follicles do not all sit at the same depth, and skin does not absorb every wavelength in the same way. A conventional single-wavelength device asks one beam to cover every combination of skin tone, hair thickness and follicle depth. Triton gives the provider a more adaptable platform.
Across its two handpieces, Triton covers three established hair-removal wavelengths. Each handpiece delivers a simultaneous blend chosen for the patient:
- Triton Duo Light: 755 nm alexandrite + 810 nm diode. Designed for lighter skin types and a broader range of hair thicknesses.
- Triton Duo Dark: 810 nm diode + 1064 nm Nd:YAG. The longer 1064 nm wavelength is less dependent on surface melanin, making it especially useful when treating deeper skin tones.
InMode explains that the wavelength blend can address deeper hairs and newly emerging follicles during the same session. That is the basis for the manufacturer’s “fewer sessions” claim. It is a meaningful efficiency advantage, but not a promise that every patient will need the same number of visits. Independent variables—especially hormones, hair color, hair caliber and missed appointments—still affect the endpoint.
Does Brazilian laser hair removal hurt?
The honest answer is that sensation varies. Hair in the Brazilian area is often coarse and the skin is sensitive, so some zones feel more intense than others. With Triton, contact cooling helps protect the skin surface and removes heat between pulses. Instead of prolonged burning, many patients experience brief warmth or quick snaps that stop as soon as the pulse ends.
Comfort also depends on technique. Correct wavelength selection, pulse duration, energy, full contact, treatment rhythm and communication all matter. The provider can pause, adjust settings or use a test spot when appropriate. Calling any medical laser “completely painless” would be misleading; describing Triton as designed for a faster, substantially more comfortable experience is supportable.
How many sessions are needed for a Brazilian?
Laser works best on follicles in the active growth phase, and only a portion of the hair is active at one time. That biology is why every laser platform requires a series. Coarse, dark Brazilian-area hair often provides a strong laser target, and many patients notice slower, patchier regrowth after the first two to three treatments.
Lumini generally sets the expectation that the strongest reduction appears after approximately six to eight properly timed sessions. InMode describes four to six treatments as a general range for permanent hair reduction with its dual-wavelength platform, while noting that resistant hair can require more. We plan conservatively because a transparent estimate is more useful than promising the smallest possible number.
Factors that may extend the series include hormonal conditions, lighter or finer hair, recently started or stopped hormone therapy, inconsistent spacing, missed sessions and settings that must be adjusted for a recent tan or increased skin sensitivity. Occasional maintenance is normal because laser reduces regrowth; it does not stop future hormonal changes.
What to expect during the appointment
- Private confirmation: the provider reviews your goals, medications, skin history, recent sun exposure and exact treatment boundaries.
- Skin and hair assessment: skin tone and hair characteristics guide the handpiece and settings. A test spot may be appropriate.
- Preparation: the area is checked for irritation, lesions or remaining hair above the skin.
- Laser delivery: the cooled handpiece remains in contact while controlled pulses are delivered in a systematic pattern.
- Aftercare review: you receive instructions based on the skin response observed that day.
Temporary redness, warmth or small bumps around follicles can occur and usually settle quickly. Blistering, severe pain, marked swelling or significant pigment change is not expected and should be reported to the clinic.
How to prepare
- Shave the agreed treatment area approximately 24 hours before the appointment, following the clinic’s instructions.
- Do not wax, tweeze or use an epilator for two to four weeks beforehand; the follicle must remain present as the laser target.
- Avoid tanning and disclose recent sun exposure or self-tanner.
- Arrive with clean skin, without lotion, oil, fragrance or deodorizing products on the area.
- Report medications that increase photosensitivity, a history of pigment changes, active irritation, infection, open skin, or a herpes outbreak.
- Do not proceed over an unexplained pigmented lesion; it should be medically evaluated and avoided during treatment.
Brazilian laser aftercare
- For 24 to 48 hours, avoid very hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, intense exercise and friction if the skin remains warm or sensitive.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing and use only the soothing products recommended by the provider.
- Do not scrub, wax or tweeze. Treated hairs may shed gradually over the following days.
- Avoid fragranced products and aggressive exfoliants until the skin is calm.
- Follow the clinic’s sun-exposure guidance even though the Brazilian area is usually covered.
Is Triton suitable for darker skin?
It can be, when the correct handpiece and parameters are selected. Triton Duo Dark blends 810 nm diode and 1064 nm Nd:YAG energy. The longer Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and is less absorbed by melanin at the skin surface than shorter wavelengths, which is why it is commonly favored for deeper skin tones.
“Suitable for darker skin” still does not mean one setting fits everyone. The provider must assess skin tone, tanning, previous reactions, hair caliber and the natural pigmentation of the intimate area. Read our detailed guide to laser hair removal for darker skin tones.

Frequently asked questions
Does Brazilian laser hair removal hurt? Sensation varies, especially across the most sensitive zones. Triton’s contact cooling helps protect the skin surface and makes treatment substantially more comfortable. Many patients describe brief warmth or a quick snap rather than sustained pain, but no responsible clinic should promise a completely sensation-free treatment.
How many sessions are needed for a Brazilian? Lumini generally advises planning for approximately six to eight well-timed sessions, although visible reduction often begins after two to three. InMode describes four to six as a general device range, while resistant or hormonally influenced hair may require more.
Does a Brazilian remove everything? It can, but it does not have to. You may choose complete removal or preserve a strip or triangle. The provider maps the exact borders with you before treatment.
What is the difference between bikini and Brazilian laser hair removal? Bikini-line treatment generally removes hair visible outside underwear. A Brazilian covers a wider front area and may include selected labial and perianal areas according to your request and the agreed treatment plan.
Should I shave before Brazilian laser hair removal? Yes. Follow the clinic’s instructions, which commonly mean shaving about 24 hours before the session. Do not wax or tweeze because the laser needs the follicle to remain in place.
Can Triton require fewer sessions than other lasers? Potentially. Triton blends two wavelengths in the same pulse to reach hair at different depths, and InMode states that this can produce greater reduction in fewer sessions. The actual number still depends on hair, skin, hormones, settings and treatment consistency.
Is Brazilian laser hair removal safe for darker skin? It may be appropriate when a trained provider selects the correct wavelength blend and parameters. Triton Duo Dark combines 810 nm diode with 1064 nm Nd:YAG, a longer wavelength commonly selected for deeper skin tones.
How much does Brazilian laser hair removal cost in Aventura? Laser hair removal at Lumini starts at $95 per session for women’s small areas. Brazilian pricing varies with the exact treatment boundary and package; it is confirmed during consultation.
